Into the clouds the moon fell, disappearing in a matter of minutes.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 25

Our short season is finally giving us a variety of beautiful flowers, gowing under hot sunny skies. Summer in the north is short - but oh, so wonderful. (HDR effect achieved with Topaz Adjust Plugin.)

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 24

The moon showed her profile, and I was able to get some really clear and sharp shots. She was low in the sky - hence the brownish tinge.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 23

The daisies aare back, growing wild all over my yard and up through the gravel of my driveway! I hate to mow the grass!

My neighbour says that these flowers are on a wild cherry tree, but I'm not sure. I love this photo, though...

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 22

I love the look of these, though I have no idea what they are! They were growing in mass in a flower bed down the street, and were quite lovely.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 21

This creek filled with spring runoff was enhanced with the Topaz Simplify plugin for photoshop elements. I like how it takes a rather boring shot and turns it into something more. I'm focusing my weekly shots on natural scenes, but this was so pretty I had to include it.

A new field, big sky, and a barn in the distance. It must be spring in the countryside...

After the dandelions, the next flowers to brave the spring were the daffodils.

I love this pic of McQueen Slough just outside Dawson Creek. Birds and ducks were plentiful, and the water was beautiful.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 18

Once spring finally arrived, the first flowers to bloom were - of course - the dandelions!

looking @ 2010 ~ Week 17

Under a big sky, fields of brown and pale green showed that spring was finally making her appearance.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 16

Though the snow was finally gone, nothing was growing yet. So I fell back on cut flowers to give me colour.

The Japanese Maples in Nashville, Centenial Park were so lovely - I had to include them.

This Canada Goose on the still lake gave a wonderful mirror effect.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 14 Honourable Mention

This photo of a Great Blue Heron was a very close second to the Oklahoma Redbud - so much so that I really wanted to include it. I saw several Blue Herons in Nashville, and loved getting the shot of this one next to an algae covered pond.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 14

With the north still snow covered, I ventured south to Nashville for a holiday. The Oklahoma Redbud was in full bloom, and it was stunning. I drank in the colour.

More closeup work. Double trouble? or just Dubble Bubble?

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 12

This young raven was one of a pair who were playing a game of passing a twig back and forth. It was fun to watch!

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 11

The sparrows and chickadees returned to my front yard this week! Still cold, with lots of snow - but a sure sign that spring is coming!
