Project 365 ~ May 2010 (Final Month!)

Days 335-365 of my first project 365. I can't believe I finished, and I didn't miss a day!! Wow. I'm really happy, and a bit sad.

My photos weren't all masterpieces - in fact, most of them were just average. But having to take the camera out every day made me look more closely at the world around me, and made me a better photographer.

Project 365 ~ Day 365

Determination.

This is the last day of my first Project 365. I have taken at least one photo per day since June 1 of last year. I can't believe I made it!

So for my last entry, I thought this photo was appropriate - a young evergreen that is inexplicably growing up through the asphalt in my office parking lot.

Project 365 ~ Day 363

Starting to Wane.

The moon is just past full - at 98% it is just beginning to wane. It was low in the sky, so I converted to B&W to show more contrast.

Saying Goodbye.

I sold my 17-55 today, and here is a final look before it's swathed in bubble wrap and tucked away to a new home...

Project 365 ~ Day 361

Portrait of a Sparrow.

The sparrows were crazy today - they ate an entire bird feeder full in under 6 hours!

Project 365 ~ Day 357

The End.

The series finale of Lost was tonight, and I was so moved that I pulled over 300 screen grabs from the special that aired before it, and created this collage. The finale has sparked a great deal of reaction, both very positive and terribly negative. I loved it, and thought it a worthy ending to an incredible show.

Here We Go Again...

Last spring storm. Over 6 inches of wet snow breaking branches and pulling down power lines. To add insult to injury - it's May long weekend, when camping and planting gardens is the norm...

Spring.

This view seems to clearly illustrate spring in the Peace country - fields, big sky, and weather that changes every minute. I loved the clouds here. By nightfall it started to rain, and it hasn't stopped. Good for the crops, eh?

Standing Alone.

This lonely tree is next to the highway heading into Grande Prairie AB, an hour east of home. I notice it every time we pass, and every time I say I want to shoot it. I finally stopped today and pulled over. I want to go back when the crop is up (hopefully it's canola...)

I'm so happy that the flowers are finally starting to bloom here in the north! The daffodils are some of the first up.
