Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 39

International Incident.

This old truck sits in deep snow, and hasn't run in ages. I was drawn to it because of the rust, snow, etc. But it wasn't until I stopped to photograph it that I noticed the bullet holes...!

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 38

Blazing the Trail...

The removal of snow behind my office left an eight foot deep canyon that looked so strange - I had to shoot it!

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 37

Superbowl Sunday.

The NFL recognized this past October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the players wore pink all month. This closeup is from my Tennessee Titans toque that I got during that campaign.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 36

#4017.

Green apples at Safeway - aren't they pretty? I took some shots with my iPhone since taking the big camera into the store is a no no...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 35

Rainy Friday.

Rain in February is rare where I live, but today was warm enough for it to fall...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 33

Wet Bird.

It warmed up today and got really slushy again. I'm not sure how this little guy got so wet, but he took the opportunity to have a long bath safe in the branches of this bush.

Days 1 - 31 of my second Project 365.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 31

New Perspective!

I finally got a 70-200 f/4 IS, and I can't be happier. It is FUN.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 29

Endangered Species?

If you can call an inanimate object a species... Canada is contemplating doing away with the penny. I'm old enough to feel a bit weird about this, even though it makes sense...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 28

New Computer!

My computer has been enduring a slow and painful death, and I finally had to order something new. (Yeah, boxing day sales!) Going from XP to Win 7 64 has been - shall we say - an experience... But I've finally gotten the right programs loaded so that I can get back to my Project 365.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 26

Big Eyes

I got a cool fish eye lens for - of all things - my iphone camera! It comes with a tiny metal ring that sticks around the camera on the phone - then the lens sticks to the ring via a magnet. Fun!

Peace River Sunrise

I had to work in Fort St. John today, and arrived just in time to catch the sunrise. I love how the orange sky reflected in the river...

The weather was warm today - above 0C, and everyone was out enjoying the sunshine.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 22

Barely Today.

I stayed up last night trying to take some moon pics. The atmospheric distortion was really bad, and I was not very successful. Taken just after midnight, this was one of the best - saturation increased to show the colour under all the moon dust...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 20

Sunset from my Kitchen Window.

I would rather not have all the wires, etc in the shot. But the colour was so amazing I just had to capture it.

Staying in the Now.

My mini zen garden at the office. The stones, etc, are about the size of my thumbnail...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 18

A Waste of Money.

"I would rather train a striped zebra to balance an Indian club than induce a dachshund to heed my slightest command. - E.B. White"

This is all that's left of the $45 dollars that dropped out of my wilfe's pocket this morning as she ran out the door. Our amazing dachshund, Cricket, decided to eat it.

Yeah.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 17

Winter Afternoon.

This lovely scene is the "glass half full" perspective of the day. We got over 2 feet of snow yesterday, making today a total mess - no buses, 1/2 the staff couldn't get into the office, we got stuck in the driveway and then again in the street! The snowfall broke records, and I'm ready for spring already... (I was actually lucky to get this shot when I did, because in the evening the wind began to gust, and all the snow fell off the trees.)

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 16

Crazy Cat.

In the middle of the night my cat, Auto, sometimes goes insane. We say the fairies are bugging him - he suddenly cries and runs and jumps on the furniture and tries to climb the drapes! Here he was, at 2am, on top of the bookcase. Look at how dilated his eyes are! It isn't dark in the room!

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 15

Piling Up.

Every day, same song - different verse. More snow.

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 11

Moving Me.

Up yesterday, and back today. It was great to get above the clouds and take in the blue sky - on the ground it's been snow and more snow...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 10

Sunrise at 20,000 Feet.

I flew up to Ft. Nelson on a quick overnight trip for work. The sunrise was stunning, and I was very glad to catch it.

We had a massive dump through the night and most of today. I didn't even get out of the house - this was taken through the window of my front door.

It was supposed to snow today, but all we got was dark clouds and slushy pavement. In late afternoon the sun peeked out, looking something like this...

Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 1

Starting Over.

Fist day of my 2nd Project 365. The calendar is one I made, with photos I took in 2010. Completes the circle, eh?

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 52

And the year ends as it begins - with sunshine and snow. Frozen Radar Lake is currently serving as ice rink and snow mobile drag strip. But all was quiet on this afternoon just past Christmas.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 51

The lunar eclipse last night was a once in a lifetime occurrence, and and I decided I couldn't miss it. It was very cold - minus 25C before the wind chill, and I went through 3 batteries. At the end my tripod was frozen, my remote froze, and my focus ring didn't want to work. But I got some good shots, and today my 50D is none the worse for wear....

Gold and Silver...
The office is in full holiday mode, and the decorations are lovely. The manager suite has a lovely tree decorated in gold and red. It really is beautiful, and feels very festive.

This white tree with blue ornaments is in the conference room.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 49

I received a tiny tree from my Secret Santa this week - only 8 inches tall, with ornaments half the size of ping pong balls. The only thing I could do was pull out the macro lens!

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 48

The sunset was amazing this afternoon, and I didn't have my Canon 50D with me. I took these with my iPhone 4, using the Pro HDR app. I ran them through my noise reduction software, and resized them, but that was all the post processing I did. I can't make fun of camera phones anymore!
