Project 365 ~ Day 149

Redneck Halloween...

...As evidenced by the pumpkins sharing space with the plastic deer, the wishing well, and the Xmas lights that never come down (including the ones between the deer's antlers!) Just shows that everyone loves Halloween!

Eye on Halloween.

My colleague is giving these little toys out to kids. Is 50 too old to be considered a kid?

Waiting for Halloween.

We got this tub for apple bobbing at our halloween party. However, it has since become a cat bed. It may have to stay in the kitchen all winter!

Creepy Moon.

The clouds came in and covered the moon, making it creepy and perfect for my Halloween theme.

Project 365 ~ Day 145

Countdown to Halloween.

With a week until Halloween, I thought I would do a series of Halloween themed pics. This one is a cute witch who currently decorates our hearth.

Project 365 ~ Day 141

In the Wake of the Wind.

The perspective make it look as if the horses and the windmills are in the same field. The windmills are actually on top of a nearby ridge.

Sick Puppy.

My poor boy, Jedi, has been feeling punky all week. The vet is working on it - hopefully he will soon be his fun loving self.

Colours of the Past

Several layers of colour are still visible on an wagon used in the early 1900s. I like the texture.

Project 365 ~ Day 137

Sun Star.

After a week of cold and snow, autumn made a return appearance. Today it warmed up to 11C, and sunny skies melted the snow. I went for a walk in the woods and caught this shot of the afternoon sun through the trees. Effect acheived with Topaz Simplify plug in for Photoshop.

One of my favorite autumn colours - the colour of leaves and pumpkins.

Light as a Feather.

These little feathers are less than 3 inches long. I wish I knew what kind of bird they come from...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Outside the snow was blowing! But inside wafted the scents of turkey with all the trimmings. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Canada!

I love how the sunlight was backlighting him - he was so pretty!

Project 365 ~ Day 131

Flu on a Budget.

Of course - it's a holiday weekend and I have 4 days off. So I woke up this morning with all the signs of the flu - it's like my body knows I have the time to be sick...

What a Difference a Day Makes!...

The snow came again suddenly - the leaves were still green! It's now below 0C and I think winter might be here to stay...

Project 365 ~ Day 128

Waning Moon.

The night sky is cloudy one minute and clear the next. I really wanted to get a series this fortnight, but the weather would not cooperate. The best I can do is get a lunar shot every few days.

A Change in the Weather...

As winter creeps ever closer, storm clouds cross the horizon with the pinks of the sunset underneath...

He'll wait in the car...

This is my little laughing buddha who stays perched on my dashboard. I put him there to remind me that road rage is a bad thing! LOL I tend to get impatient (shall we say) with slow or otherwise inconvenient drivers, and screaming at them isn't helpful to my blood pressure or my karma! So laughing buddha helps me to breathe...

Project 365 ~ Day 124

Drunken Self Portrait.

I had a touch of the flu and didn't go to work. I really felt too icky to try and be creative, so I put up the tripod and got a shot of the wine glasses hanging in the hutch. It was only when I uploaded the photo to my computer that I spied myself clicking the remote. LOL I hate having my picture taken, and I managed to do it myself!

Project 365 ~ Day 123

October 1 Moon.

My 50D arrived today, back from Canon repair with a brand new shutter. This evening was clear and cool and I celebrated by attaching the Sigma 80-400 and getting some pics of the waxing gibbous moon.

Project 365 ~ September 2009

Days 93 - 122 of my first Project 365.

I'm happier with the combination of colour and composition in my September mosiac than I was with August. I tried to take pictures that gave the feel of the season. I think, for the most part, that I was successful. Also in September I had to use my Panasonic ultrazoom for 1/2 the month, and became accutely aware of how much I love using a DSLR. I found it more difficult to be creative, and became a bit bored when I just had the p&s. I really appreciate the options that a DSLR gives, and will never again complain that it's too much trouble to carry around!

Project 365 ~ Day 122

September Clouds.

As expected, the weather turned back into fall again. The snow disappeared and the sun came out. The clouds were amazing! Sometimes it's easy to see why this is the northwest corner of "Big Sky Country."
