Project 365 2.0 ~ Day 5
A Mix of Sun and Cloud.
It was supposed to snow today, but all we got was dark clouds and slushy pavement. In late afternoon the sun peeked out, looking something like this...

Up the Hill...
Today was warm and sunny, and it seemed half the town was sledding in the park.

Starting Over.
Fist day of my 2nd Project 365. The calendar is one I made, with photos I took in 2010. Completes the circle, eh?

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 52
And the year ends as it begins - with sunshine and snow. Frozen Radar Lake is currently serving as ice rink and snow mobile drag strip. But all was quiet on this afternoon just past Christmas.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 51
The lunar eclipse last night was a once in a lifetime occurrence, and and I decided I couldn't miss it. It was very cold - minus 25C before the wind chill, and I went through 3 batteries. At the end my tripod was frozen, my remote froze, and my focus ring didn't want to work. But I got some good shots, and today my 50D is none the worse for wear....

Gold and Silver...
The office is in full holiday mode, and the decorations are lovely. The manager suite has a lovely tree decorated in gold and red. It really is beautiful, and feels very festive.
This white tree with blue ornaments is in the conference room.

I received a tiny tree from my Secret Santa this week - only 8 inches tall, with ornaments half the size of ping pong balls. The only thing I could do was pull out the macro lens!

The sunset was amazing this afternoon, and I didn't have my Canon 50D with me. I took these with my iPhone 4, using the Pro HDR app. I ran them through my noise reduction software, and resized them, but that was all the post processing I did. I can't make fun of camera phones anymore!

The colour has faded to black and white outside, but flowers are still blooming in my office. A colleague received a bouquet and I grabbed my macro lens.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 44
From the date of the last photo (taken at the beginning of week 43) to the date of this photo (at week 44's end) the rain has given way to snow and ice and the temperature has plunged us into winter. But the hoar frost is beautiful, don't you think?

The leaves have turned and are falling quickly. Autumn in the north is primarily yellow, as the poplar trees outnumber all other deciduous trees by about 10 to 1...

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 34
I travelled up to Ft. Nelson for work, and was able to go north one day with a colleague, taking in the change of scenery. This is the view from the Alaska Highway, about an hour north of Ft. Nelson. It was a really cloudy, rainy day, and the sky never made an appearance. I want to go back when it's sunny.

Smokey Moon.
There are currently over 400 wildfires burning across the province, and the smoke seems to be everywhere. It coloured the moon a deep brown on this night. Hopefully the expected rain will help.

The Fall Fair was this weekend, and it was a lot of fun! Only in the north do you have a "Fall" fair in early August... I entered 10 photos, and got 4 ribbons - three 2nd places and a 1st place!

In case you diddn't know, you have to have at least 5 geese to make up a gaggle, and they must not be flying.

My mom passed away on July 20, after a long illness. She loved moonlight. I took this from the balcony of my parents' condo, in honour of her. The view of the moon is a bit different in Nashville, being so far southeast from BC.

This was not a fruitful week - scheduling and weather kept me from getting out to shoot. Even a holiday long weekend didn't help. Between Sunday, June 27 and Saturday, July 3, my only decent shots were of the moon...
