Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 14 Honourable Mention
This photo of a Great Blue Heron was a very close second to the Oklahoma Redbud - so much so that I really wanted to include it. I saw several Blue Herons in Nashville, and loved getting the shot of this one next to an algae covered pond.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 14
With the north still snow covered, I ventured south to Nashville for a holiday. The Oklahoma Redbud was in full bloom, and it was stunning. I drank in the colour.

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 12
This young raven was one of a pair who were playing a game of passing a twig back and forth. It was fun to watch!

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 11
The sparrows and chickadees returned to my front yard this week! Still cold, with lots of snow - but a sure sign that spring is coming!

Looking @ 2010 ~ Week 9 Honourable Mention
Though I love the moon shot, I couldn't let the week pass without including the mother and calf that wandered down the back alley behind my office one Tuesday afternoon. This is how you know you live in the rural north!

I love this shot of the moon setting behind the windmills at the edge of town.

Looking at 2010 ~ Week 7
I couldn't mark the year without at least one photo illustratig the Olympics in Vancouver. I couldn't be there, but cheered on Canada for hours each day!

Looking at 2010 ~ Week 6
In the winter you eyes begin to search for colour like a man in the desert searching for water. Flowers are appreciated in all forms - even window clings...

A late rising sun combined with a late setting moon allows for scenes like this - taken at 9:06am.

Looking at 2010 ~ Week 1
Since my Project 365 is over I'm creating a collection of 52 photos representing 2010 - one from each week. In week one the frog brings luck for the new year.

A Year in Review
I thought it would be cool to make a mosiac of all my monthly mosiacs from my Project 365 - a year's worth of photos in one! It was so weird not to be thinking about my "photo of the the day" today. I still had my camera with me, and actually took some really nice landscapes. I'm glad that I decided to continue on with a "Photo of the Week."

Project 365 ~ May 2010 (Final Month!)
Days 335-365 of my first project 365. I can't believe I finished, and I didn't miss a day!! Wow. I'm really happy, and a bit sad.
My photos weren't all masterpieces - in fact, most of them were just average. But having to take the camera out every day made me look more closely at the world around me, and made me a better photographer.
Project 365 ~ Day 365
Determination.
This is the last day of my first Project 365. I have taken at least one photo per day since June 1 of last year. I can't believe I made it!
So for my last entry, I thought this photo was appropriate - a young evergreen that is inexplicably growing up through the asphalt in my office parking lot.

Project 365 ~ Day 363
Starting to Wane.
The moon is just past full - at 98% it is just beginning to wane. It was low in the sky, so I converted to B&W to show more contrast.

The sparrows were crazy today - they ate an entire bird feeder full in under 6 hours!

Project 365 ~ Day 357
The End.
The series finale of Lost was tonight, and I was so moved that I pulled over 300 screen grabs from the special that aired before it, and created this collage. The finale has sparked a great deal of reaction, both very positive and terribly negative. I loved it, and thought it a worthy ending to an incredible show.

Here We Go Again...
Last spring storm. Over 6 inches of wet snow breaking branches and pulling down power lines. To add insult to injury - it's May long weekend, when camping and planting gardens is the norm...

Spring.
This view seems to clearly illustrate spring in the Peace country - fields, big sky, and weather that changes every minute. I loved the clouds here. By nightfall it started to rain, and it hasn't stopped. Good for the crops, eh?

Standing Alone.
This lonely tree is next to the highway heading into Grande Prairie AB, an hour east of home. I notice it every time we pass, and every time I say I want to shoot it. I finally stopped today and pulled over. I want to go back when the crop is up (hopefully it's canola...)
